THE signature dish that everyone must order at least once in their life is the lamb ribs at Tail Up Goat in Adams Morgan. They are served on a platter for two, but could easily feed three or four people. The ribs are first cooked in the oven and finished off on the grill to give it that little bit of char. The following ingredients give this unique spin of lamb that extra unforgettable flavor: date molasses, Za’atar + yogurt onions, pickled walnuts and roasted potatoes. This combination of flavors along with the fresh herbs of mint, parsley, and dill is mouthwatering. I recommend that you eat it slow and savor all the glory.

Tail Up Goat also has some other equally delicious shareable plates that are appetizing. The crispy salt cod served with smoked cauliflower, and pickled red onion is tasty. The red fife sourdough served with burnt bread sauce, bacon lardons, chilies, lettuce, and Meyer lemon is delightful.
But let’s go back to the lamb, shall we? It is a life-changing experience that I will be talking about for years to come. Don’t take my word for it, make your way to this hidden gem restaurant (located right next to Philz coffee) in Adams Morgan. Reservations are a bit tough, but pop in as soon as they open and take a seat at the bar, you won’t be disappointed.
