Located in Nanjemoy, Maryland, the Southern Doncaster Demonstration State Forest is one of the most beautiful and unique sections of public land you are likely to come across. Along with the access to trails (that you can even take horses on), and over 1,450 acres of forested woodlands, there are activities that are promoted that help to care for the forest. Volunteer trail cleaning and grooming, trash pick up around the park, firewood cutting of old and fallen trees, and even hunting is allowed for wildlife management. All of these directly impact the Southern Doncaster Demonstration Forest in positive ways, and are all done through the community as they take care of their forest.
