Vigilante Coffee Company has had exponential growth since originally starting out in a 250 sq ft basement in 2011 where he would roast his coffee and sell it off of his back porch in Northeast DC. Chris, the founder of Vigilante Coffee realized his love for specialty coffee while working as a barista in Honolulu Hawaii. Before opening their first coffee shop, they attended farmers markets, pop-up shops as well as selling their coffee beans to local businesses. They opened their first coffee shop in Hyattsville, MD in 2014. In 2018, they transformed an old liquor store to become their 2nd Coffee shop near the University of Maryland bringing the community their first specialty coffee shop. Since then they have decided to start donating 1% of all sales to an organization that they believe in, started a subscription plan for their coffee beans for people to purchase, as well as opening their first location on the west coast in Oceanside, California. They have also begun to sell their coffee beans, coffee brewing gear as well as Vigilante Coffee merchandise in stores and online. They have a large selection of menu items including coffee and tea, acai bowls, fruit, pastries and snacks, bagels as well as ice cream!
Vigilante Coffee gets their coffee from all over the world and posts the different types of beans and their tasting notes online, giving customers a large variety to choose from and an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a delicious cup of Vigilante coffee.
