The Nellis Group held their annual chili cookoff in Annandale this past weekend and it was our biggest contest ever. A total of 14 chilis were entered into the competition! Along with chili there were great sides provided by Natural Red Catering , drinks, a pool, volleyball live music by the Bruno Sound and a cornhole tournament.
A great time was had by all as we kicked off our 100th Home Voting (VOTE TODAY), raised money for charity (DONATE TODAY) and found out who was the top chili chef in the DC Metro area.
This was our closest chili cookoff yet with single votes separating the winners and non winners. All the guests filled out their voting cards and 3 top chilis were awarded. When it was all said and done, The Baum Bison Chili took home top prize. Pictured below are 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, who each took home Amazon Gift Cards ($250, $150, $100).
We also held a cornhole tournament, and once again a gift card was on the line. However, in a shocking upset, James Nellis himself ended up getting extremely lucky, and with the wind at his back and the home board advantage, his team took home the trophy.
Each year, we pick a specific charity for the event, and this year we combined the Chili Cookoff with our Ragnar Race Team to donate to those effected by the recent hurricanes in the United States. You still have time to contribute, with a few perks if you hit a certain minimum donation amount. DONATE HERE.
Thank you to all our Nellis Group clients and friends who came out to the event, and we look forward to seeing you all at future events.
