Rosslyn Of Arlington: An Artful City

The Arlington neighborhood of Rosslyn is the gateway from Virginia into Georgetown and Washington, D.C. But hidden among the high rises and big corporate buildings is an interesting and artsy neighborhood that many people do not even know exists.

My walk around Rosslyn started at the metro. I enjoyed the view across the Potomac of the Georgetown campus from Gateway Park, played some bocce at Freedom Park and traversed the “city in the sky” skywalks that are found throughout the city. Along the way I passed murals, sculptures and inspiring art pieces that make this neighborhood so unique.

Public art is scattered throughout the community. It transforms the already interesting city-like neighborhood into an interesting place to visit and enjoy. Rosslyn even has its own “Art Map” that shows you the location of all these great works.

The end of my walk took me through a tunnel, although the tunnel was more of a sculpture. This was Dark Star park and the cement orbs representing fallen stars was my final view before heading back over to the Carlyn Place condos to take some photos of our latest listing (4390 Lorcom Lane #201, Arlington, VA).
