Drink, Eat, Drink Some More, Be Merry!
The reaction to Cooper’s Hawk opening their 30th location, 3rd in the DMV area, was nothing short of sheer delight. After much negotiation, Cooper’s was chosen as the anchor for the Reston Town Centers’ West Complex. Aesthetically, Cooper’s takes their design inspiration from the wineries of the Napa Valley; lending a rustic-chic vibe that’s almost reminiscent of Aspen, but with that California cool that Napa is synonymous with. However, I assure you that as cool as the space looks, everyone is coming here for the vino. With grapes that are sourced from different vineyards between Oregon, California, and Washington state, Cooper’s has wines that range from lux reds, to ice whites and everything in-between, even sparkling options. But wait, there’s more! Cooper’s Hawk also has a wine of the month club with a FULL wine tasting room to sample the wines before you choose which bottles you will be taking home or having opened tableside with dinner. More on the food in a minute; for those wishing to participate in the wine club, Cooper’s offers the following Memberships:
As a Variety Member, you will receive the alternating red and white wines each month.
Red Club Membership
As a Red Club Member, you may choose any wine during a red wine month (an additional charge will apply to Cooper’s Hawk Lux Wines, special release wines, and Ice Wine).
White Club Membership
As a White Club Member, you may choose any wine during a white wine month (an additional charge will apply to Cooper’s Hawk Lux Wines, special release wines, and Ice Wine).
Sweet Club Membership
As a Sweet Club Member, you may choose any fruit, sparkling, romance or holiday wine each month.
Gift Membership
Our Wine Club Memberships make great gifts for friends, family members, loved ones or as a corporate gift. Gift Memberships are available in 3, 6, or 12-month periods.
In the event that you can’t make it out to pickup your bottles every month, Cooper’s also offers a shipping option for those in states where shipping is legal. There’s also an option to purchase wine directly from the tasting room to gift, drink, or take. Now, this is not a wine bar where you can purchase bottles and drink them with friends in the tasting room; for that you have to head into the dining room and get a table or sit at their bar to be served. The Reston location will offer a little over 50 different varieties of wines that they make currently making for something new to try every time you come.
As for the food, where do we begin? Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants earned the 2019 Pacesetter Award, an honor given by Restaurant Business to an emerging restaurant chain that’s proven itself to be a smart, strong leader that’s influencing the restaurant industry (Restaurant Business). Cooper’s Reston location is fortunate to have an executive chef that is extremely familiar with the DC area as a result of his previous tenure with the Nats when they initially came to the nation’s capital and were playing at RFK. As a result, he is in tune with how Washington likes to wine and dine. The restaurant’s dishes range from Bourbon Lacquered BBQ pork chop boneless loin, chipotle mashed, tomato-braised kale, buttermilk onion rings to shrimp & scallop risotto with sweet corn, asparagus, peas, spinach, parmesan, and white truffle oil. YUM-
Anyone that has ever dined at Cooper’s since they first came to the area can tell you that there are signature dishes that are mainstays on the menu, but the executive chef seeks to strike a balance between keeping the regulars happy with fan favorites while also changing things up for patrons who are interested in trying new dishes. Either way, make your reservation TODAY and thank us later.
