DC: Rock Creek Park

Rock Creek Park is one of the oldest and largest urban parks in the United States. Known for its scenery, this park has a handful of recreational activities which includes, picnic areas, hiking and biking trails and nature programs. Rock Creek Park has over 32 miles of trails to explore with endless possibilities. This beautiful park is also a large attraction for photographers. Located within the park is Pierce Mill. Pierce Mill is a grist mill, built in the 1820’s that was later restored by the National Park Service which is now used as a visitors center for Rock Creek Park. They also have educational centers, volunteer programs and events to help build a connection with the community and park. Maryland: Wheaton Regional Park 

Wheaton Regional Park is a large public park located in Montgomery County, Maryland. This beautiful park has a handful of activities including a baseball field, as well as basketball, tennis and pickle ball courts. There are also picnic shelters, playgrounds, 2 indoor skating rinks, a dog park as well as a train and carousel. Located within Wheaton Regional Park, is Brookside Gardens. Virginia: Burke Lake Park 

With over 888 acres, there is something for everyone at Burke Lake Park. Surrounding by Burke Lake there are a handful of aquatic activities such as fishing, boating and kayaking. Some of the other amenities include a 4.7 mile hiking trail, mini-golf course, disc golf course, playground and even an ice cream shop! Burke Lake Park also offers a camping ground in which guests can book for a weekend stay or even longer. This Picturesque park is the perfect way to spend the day with family and friends. They also offer classes, special events and camps! During the winter months they host Saturday night campfire events that include interactive activities, animal presentations and s’mores!
